Session Info
If you’ve never experienced custom professional photography before, you’ve been missing out! No more waiting in line at chain studios only to be rushed through and only end up with a handful of poses to choose from of your child plopped uncomfortably in front of a backdrop.
I do offer studio set ups, but I’m also happy to photograph you in your environment or at the location of your choice. A typical session lasts around an hour to an hour and a half, but you’ll never be rushed. I often use parents as backdrops with small children, so please be prepared to be photographed.
Make sure you will have no other distractions during your session and that it works with your child(ren)’s schedule for a time they will be most cheerful. Please do not threaten your child to behave for pictures. This sends them the message that it is something they don’t want to do and makes it harder to get nice natural expressions. If you’re relaxed and positive about it, they typically will be too. Sometimes it’s best to let young children warm up to me a bit before we start shooting.
NO CHEESE PLEASE! Please do not direct your child to “say cheese.” Natural smiles come from natural interaction with the child. If you are helping your child smile make sure to stand directly behind me so your child is looking toward the camera. It’s often best for parents to step back or even out of sight and let me interact with the child. Please stay within earshot in case your child needs you.
The session fee is due as a retainer when you book your session to hold your date on my schedule. The minimum purchase is due at the time of your session. Within ONE WEEK after your session I’ll send you a password to an online ordering gallery of the best images from your session fully edited. Your gallery will be available on my website for one week, please place your order during this time. If you need to extend your gallery there will be a $15/day hosting fee.
I like to post several images from each session on my Facebook Page, photo blog, and website — if you would prefer that I not share your images online, please let me know at the time of your session.
